Four different looks from Redtag to make sure you are stylish, comfortable and covered for any situation this Autumn/Winter.

Add a touch of elegance to your Eid celebration wardrobe thanks to Redtag. There are so many stunning pieces to choose from that you will have no trouble finding something that makes you look and feel beautiful.

Look 1: Beautifully Bold

red 1

If you prefer more of a bold look this Eid then go for a Ruby Red color which is in absolutely in style at the moment. Like this evening dress from Redtag, I really love it because of the mullet skirt and the tube style of the top, an elegant dress finished off with some sparkly sequins to add some festive spirit.

red 2

This uniquely detailed white scarf from Redtag balances out the red and is great for those who want to show more modesty to their outfit. Paired with some great accessories to finish of the look including a turban and some gold chandelier earrings as well as an evening clutch, which has some intricate sparkle too and is a great hand held size. A regal outfit with a feminine touch at such an affordable price!!

Look 2: Simple in Gold

black 3

Steal the day with this simple yet elegant ensemble! This uniquely designed Gold peplum top really caught my eye in the store. It is a pretty feminine piece to have in your wardrobe made with good material that helps keep the elegant peplum structure in place.

black 2

Structured pieces are really in style this season also and one of my favorite trends. Pairing a black maxi skirt with a sheer fabric is a different twist and therefore, can be dressed up for an evening outfit or even worn more casually. The black skirt balances out the brightness of the gold and draws attention to the top, a pair of gold earrings and other accessories can just finish off this look and even a matching black turban if you like.

black 1

A simple but eye-catching outfit that looks a million dollars!

Eid Make-up tips:

  • Be bold with your make-up even if it is just a ruby red lip like my beautiful model was wearing. It can really make your look pop!
  • Add a twinkle in your eyes with some glitter or shimmer eye shadow
  • Lastly, some black eyeliner can also add some elegance to your Eid look and there are so many different styles to choose from depending on your style

As an appreciator of affordable fashion, whenever Redtag gets in touch and asks to collaborate with me on a blog post I can’t contain my excitement! I have such a nice time browsing their store and creating fun looks for children that I often end up with a shopping cart full, when I only went shopping for one look! They have such a brilliant selection of stylish options at really affordable prices that it makes shopping there a guilt-free pleasure – and therefore that much MORE fun!

I also enjoy the Redtag shopping experience for the way they display the fashion. Each display unit is themed – usually with matching tops and bottoms, which means you can easily mix and match outfits without losing hours trying to figure out what goes well with what. This makes it especially great when shopping for special events, when you have very little time.

For this collaboration, I was asked to style an adorable little girl named Aayra in two different looks specifically for Eid. A task made super-easy thanks to how naturally pretty she is :), combined with the cute clothing choices at Redtag.

Look 1: Dressed Up

Girl2

For Aayra’s first look, I selected a beautiful rich ruby red formal dress. The studded Peter Pan collar gives it that extra glam factor and the ribbing on the dress says anything but high street! This, paired with little gold, glittery lace shoes creates a look that is oh so sweet, yet stylish. Doesn’t she look like a little movie star?

LOOK 2: Casually Cool

For a more toned down Eid look, this playful ensemble is very on-trend!I wanted to show you just how versatile ballet flats are – they can be worn for formal occasions or dressed down for a more casual look. One shoe, two looks, equals extra bang for your buck! Something you should keep in mind when shopping for your little ones.

Girl7

In this look, Aayra is wearing navy cotton leggings with gold studs down the side. On top, I opted for a lightweight gold knit blouse which goes really well with the studs on her leggings and gold shoes. It can be worn as is, or for a bit of extra panache, throw in her zip-down lace, cream and gold bomber jacket. I also chose to add in the bobble necklace, since she is a real girly girl. As for the pink shimmery cat ears, I simply couldn’t resist and she loved them too! Smart accessories can really help piece together an entire look.

My Top Style Tips for Eid:

  1. Choose something that they will feel comfortable in. Aayra’s dress was soft and silky – you can see in the photos that she felt confident and comfy in it. It is so important you pay attention to the fabric. My top choices (after endless meltdowns with my diva of a 4 year old) are a silk-like fabric or soft cotton, as they feel nice against their skin.
  2. Opt for darker colored clothes as white shows dirt easily. Think forward to the special parties you’ll be attending where there’ll be lots of food and the kids will be running wild. We all know where that food will end up and you don’t want to be left washing out a stain in the bathroom while everyone else is having a ball at the party.
  3. If your child isn’t fond of wearing accessories, such as jewelry or headbands, a dress with a bit of applique is a great alternative.
  4. Glitter and lace shoes are nicely on-trend – my kids love them – and the pair featured on Aayra, are the perfect pick for any party.
  5. My last tip for dressing up for Eid…don’t be afraid to add gold or silver! It adds instant sparkle to any party look!

During this season full of celebrations an outfit must have a touch of sparkle to shine and stand out from the rest.

IMG_5472

Even if it is all black, like my cocktail dress from Redtag, which has an elegant detail of sequins. I paired the dress on my recent trip to Singapore with a matching black scarf, but the dress also looks just as glamorous without the scarf. Even a colored scarf would look great with the dress. In this outfit I chose to wear my hair in a bun as I found some really gorgeous statement earrings from Redtag, which I felt really made the outfit, and I didn’t want to cover them. They have a Gatsby inspired style to them. The dress is really comfortable and with a black pair of stockings and heels it just finishes off the outfit making it glamorous. Being black makes it so versatile for you to choose accessories and heels or flats in any color depending on your style.

To balance the outfit I chose a cream colored handbag, which is so perfect as it can be used as both a clutch bag or over the shoulder. I really liked the gold detailing on the bag with the padlock. To finish off the whole outfit I also found a matching statement ring in gold and black with really nice detailing and a golden bracelet. The outfit is classic and simple but both elegant and unique at the same time. Redtag has got some great glamorous dresses and accessories that are perfect for you this season.

Being in this country for so many years now, I have lived and loved cultures and customs here that I know I will never find back in my country.

One things I enjoy is seeing how the Middle Eastern people preserved and continued the traditional practice of wearing varieties of long dresses such as kaftans and abayas, either simple or extravagant, which are specially curated for the holy month of Ramadan and Eid occasion.

Image_W1

While there are plenty of ways to acquire long dresses, Redtag makes sure to serve the public with a handful of collections that are available for women to choose from at an affordable cost.

It is a requirement to practice modesty during Ramadan, muslim or non-muslim. Notice how Sapna Basit wore this long peach powdery dress. It’s quite hard to pull-off that conservative style combined with subtleness in a dress without trying too hard in covering everything. The dress is sleeveless and we covered her shoulders with a cardigan of similar colour with the black lace adorned on the neckline forming an illusion of a V-shape. Because Sapna is tall, the waist belt worked out perfectly on her. She looks even longer with her pointed nude heels and the clutch balances the entire wardrobe.  The black hijab complemented the lace, waist belt and cardigan then seals off that elegant look. Sapna is a freelance makeup artist so she knows how to play around with her makeup that matches her planned look for Iftar nights.

The peach dress, however, can be styled of course, in other ways too. If you wear a hijab like Sapna, try playing around with coloured or printed head scarfs to transform your look into something edgy and a bit modern.
